Toei and Sony Pictures are teaming up for Knights of the Zodiac, a live-action adaptation of the 80s-era manga and anime series Saint Seiya. The film will be headlined by Mackenyu Arata (Rurouni Kenshin: The Final) and Madison Iseman (Jumanji: The Next Level) and directed by Tomasz Baginski, who is perhaps best known for executively producing The Witcher, as well as his special effects-driven short films.
Co-starring are Sean Bean (Goldeneye), Famke Janssen (Taken franchise), Nick Stahl (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines), Diego Tinoco (On My Block) and martial arts star Mark Dacascos (One Night in Bangkok). Veteran stuntman and martial arts choreographer Andy Cheng, who was the fight coordinator of Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten, is on board for the film’s fight sequences.
