Renaissance (R2) in November
Pathé Distribution Ltd. have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Renaissance for 27th November 2006 priced at £19.99. Starring the vocal talents of Daniel Craig, Jonathan Pryce and Romola Garai, Renaissance, a film created with unique and novel digital effects will be released in limited edition packaging this winter.
Set in the French capital of the future, no one is immune from the prying eyes of the technologically advanced Big Brother government. No action goes unseen. No conversation goes unheard. It is within this transparent, all-knowing environment that a beautiful and promising young researcher, Ilona (Garai), is mysteriously kidnapped.
Hardened police captain Karas (Craig), whose ruthless tactics have earned him a remarkable success rate, is assigned to the search. His investigation leads him first of all to Ilona’s employer, the cosmetics giant Avalon whose Chief Officer Paul Dellenbach, (Pryce), is desperate for news of his missing employee…
Karas is forced to delve deeper into his own past and the dark underworld of the city in search of information. When he uncovers the true motive behind Avalon’s most prolific research project, his quest to save one life is catapulted into a desperate race to save millions.
The animation in Renaissance is digitally rendered from live action footage giving the characters and scenarios remarkable depth. The angular lines and monochrome colour scheme lend an aura of 1930s film noir to 2054 Paris, culminating in a visual feast.
