Ich hab ihn gesehen (den UK Director´s Cut) ... die F/X sind durchwachsen, das stimmt (B-Film-Niveau). Die Geschichte ist typisch Phillip Dick ("Total Recall"/"Minority Report"/"Paycheck"...), also etwas verworren, aber gut. Die Darsteller gefielen mir eigentlich auch. Das Ende hingegen ist hervorragend und hebt den Film im Gesamteindruck deutlich an (obwohl pfiffige Zuschauer es nach der Hälfte erahnen können)!!!
Trotzdem bleibt der Eindruck, daß es sich um eine kostengünstigere Produktion handelt, in die man etwas mehr Mühe hätte investieren sollen. Das liegt aber wohl hauptsächlich daran, daß der Film ursprünglich als eine 40 Minütige Episode gedacht war (was besser (weil kompakter) gewesen wäre - die Vorlage war ja auch ne Kurzgeschichte).
Ich würde ihm durchschnittliche "5 von 10" geben.

Impostor (2002)
* The term "replicant" that is used several times to describe the accused cyborg was coined in Blade Runner (1982), the first movie based on the work of Philip K. Dick. It appears nowhere in any of Dick's works.
* One of the shots in the beginning of a rocket being launched is from Gattaca (1997).
* In the opening narration, some shots from Armageddon (1998), Starship Troopers (1997) and other science fiction-/disaster movies are used.
* The military uniforms and helmets were originally used for Starship Troopers (1997).
* A street scene is filmed in a courtyard of Cal Poly Pomona's administration building, the same one used for Jude Law's apartment building in "Gattaca". Several students and staff of Cal Poly Pomona were used as extras for this scene.
